New Survey Ranks Symphony Among Default and REO’s Best Technology

Irvine, CA – June 9, 2005 – Jackson & Associates, a nationwide provider of post-foreclosure legal services to the real-estate owned (REO) industry, announced results today from what it believes to be the default industry’s first-ever user satisfaction study. The survey-based study, conducted among users of the firm’s flagship Symphony platform for occupied REO management, found that Symphony users rated it higher in quality than other default-related technology that they regularly used. Respondents included attorney’s offices, clients of the firm, as well as REO brokers nationwide – a diverse user base that possesses experience with a wide range of industry technology.

“The only way technology will reach critical mass, really effecting meaningful change on default and REO, is if people can actually use it,” said Robert Jackson, President and Senior Managing Attorney. “Unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s been missing from most discussions of new technology in our industry – the user.”

“Every vendor in REO and default claims to have the ‘best’ and ‘most innovative’ technology, but without actually going out and asking the people who use it, I don’t know how anyone would really be able to know that,” Jackson said. “The satisfaction research we’ve conducted provides vital input into our development process, helping us understand what users like, what they don’t, and how we can make Symphony even easier to use.”

Key findings from the study include:

  • 85% of respondents indicated that Symphony was higher or significantly higher in composite quality when compared to other regularly-used default technology.
  • 97% of respondents said their usage experience with Symphony met or exceeded their own expectations.
  • User satisfaction with Symphony among respondents was above 95%.

Jackson credits his firm’s strong focus on usability as a key reason motivating high satisfaction with the Symphony platform. “From the very beginning, we’ve focused on usability with Symphony, not only because of its importance, but because we knew how unhappy so many people were with even the newer platforms being introduced,” he said. “The amazing thing to me is that it’s taken a law firm expanding its scope of operations into programming and software development in order to bring the user towards center stage. Shouldn’t the user have been there all along?”
