Jackson and Associates Releases Upgrades to its Symphony REO Property Recovery Platform

IRVINE, CA – April 7, 2005 – Jackson & Associates, a provider of legal services and nationwide legal process management to the real estate owned (REO) industry, announced today that it has completed a series of significant upgrades to its flagship Symphony platform for occupied REO management. Upgrades include improvements to the platform’s voluntary relocation (‘cash for keys’) module, as well as the introduction of a new Message Center feature that provides users with centralized access to communications.

Scott Jackson, a managing attorney and Director of IT at the firm, says the upgrades are part of a planned development path for the Symphony platform. “When we first launched Symphony in December of 2004, we didn’t launch a ‘me-too’ kind of web service,” said Jackson. “Symphony is a first mover into an entirely new space. Our development plan calls for releasing major upgrades to Symphony bi-annually, but given the unique situation surrounding its initial launch, we felt it was necessary to speed up the development process a bit for the first major upgrade.”

Symphony’s patent-pending approach to managing REO property recovery includes native support for voluntary relocation programs, often called ‘cash for keys.’ Effective cash for keys programs can significantly reduce the amount of time associated with recovering an occupied asset, while simultaneously limiting risk exposure and cost. The newly-released upgrade adds additional functionality to Symphony’s voluntary relocation module, including an offer confirmation system that helps ensure timely offer response. Also part of the upgrade are new reporting features designed to help REO managers gain insight into the effectiveness of their cash for keys programs.

The newly-designed Message Center feature inside Symphony was developed to meet changing standards on the Internet. “Spam is a real problem for most organizations, and as a result, many ISPs are really starting to clamp down on commercial email,” said Jackson. “For an information management platform that supports over 1,000 active users, that means a lot of email can go missing.” Jackson said the new Message Center stores all relevant email communications generated by Symphony, so users don’t have to worry about missing any important information intended for them.
